Clad materials - best quality with tradition

When Bernhard Bauer founded Wickeder Eisen- und Stahlwerk GmbH in 1913, he hardly suspected that over 100 years later his small company would be one of the world's leading companies for specialized metallic semin-finished products. Wickeder Westfalensthahl GmbH is today the parent company of the Wickeder Group.

He paved the way with a keen sense for trends and the great desire to find extraordinary solutions. Bernhard Bauer recognized the importance of metal-clad materials at an early stage. Already in 1920 he applied for a groundbreaking patent: the cladding of iron strips with Aluminum. The materialis today known as FERAN. Even before 1930, this material could be brought into market. The continous development of clad materials still plays a crucial role in our company and even today the descendants of Bernhard and Paula Bauer are deeply rooted as shareholders in the Wickeder Group.
